In Memory: Jehangir Saleh

Jehangir Saleh (1985-2013) was an exceptional student in the Arts and Contemporary Studies program at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2008. He presented at the first Arteries Research Conference in March of 2008 on Disorder within the world of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Jehangir dedicated his time and academic work to the idea of ‘opening up’ and understanding chronic illness, using his personal and lived experiences as a framework for creative, theoretical and research exploration. He was curious, creative and fearless in confronting and making meaning from life’s challenges. His positive spirit inspired others around him to do the same.

In 2014, the Saleh Family set up the Jehangir Saleh Fund at TMU to support projects that honour Jehangir’s legacy. The Kaleidoscope organizing team hopes to honour Jehangir’s legacy of academic excellence, curiosity and creativity through our event and our presence on campus.
